TUBE Feeders

The Wild Birds Unlimited Tube Feeder comes with a lifetime guarantee. Set up with Supreme Blend inside, this feeder will attract a multitude of different birds.

Tube feeders can come in many shapes and sizes, but they are all basically a seed tube filled with seed. Some are made to hold specific kinds of seeds, such as a finch feeder, which is designed to hold Thistle seed. They are easy to clean and fill, and it's easy to see the birds while they're feeding.

Birds recognize these feeders readily, having little fear of them since they see them as a food source, which makes it easy to attract the birds quickly to new a feeder.
They are affordable, last years with very little maintenance, and are usually lightweight enough to hang almost anywhere. A very good choice for beginners.

Wooden Feeders

WBU 200 Series Wooden Feeders are constructed with a large overhang to stop seed from getting wet, easy clean out and easy fill features. This is a durable, beautiful feeder you can post or hang, which small and large birds can frequent.

Wooden Feeders typically have large hoppers in which to place a large amount of seed. This takes much less daily maintenance then smaller feeders do.

They are attractive feeders which can be hung from a strong tree branch or mounted on a post.

Platform Feeders

Platform feeders come in many different shapes. Some will have covers and some will be open to the elements. If they are open to the elements and you live in the Pacific NW, you should be sure they have a mesh (or wire) screen bottom, so that rain water does not collect in the feeder, thus spoiling your seed.
They can be small enough to hang from a tree, or set on the ground and large enough to accommodate many birds at once. A platform feeder can attract many ground feeding birds.

Window Feeders

A WBU window feeder is fun no matter where you live. Easy to fill, and fun to watch, they brighten any window in the house.

Window feeders are attached to your windows typically with suction cups. They bring birds in close where you can really observe them, and make it easy to feed the birds from a second story window. Window Feeders are a favorite with children.

Suet Feeders

Suet feeders will attract birds that don't usually frequent our feeders. Such as the Northern Flicker.

Suet is a high energy source for birds, and is especially useful to them in the winter.

The WBU Tail Prop Suet Feeder will attract birds such as the Woodpecker. They love Suet as do many others birds such as Chickadees, Nuthatches, Jays and Bushtits.

HUMMINGBIRD FEEDERS

The mixing ratio for the sugar-water is:

4 parts water
to 1 part table sugar
.

NEVER use honey to sweeten the water
Hummingbirds are allergic to honey!

There is NO need to put red dye in the water. This only sends red dye through their system, and does not serve to help them find your feeder.

There are plenty of red parts on most hummingbird feeders to attract them.

Hummingbirds are migratory and are only in the Pacific North West during the spring and summer months. We usually see the first ones arrive here around Valentine's day and they will stay until the end of August.

They feed on nectar from flowers and sugar-water from feeders, and will sit down to drink if provided with a perch. They are fascinating to watch and very territorial.
