Different binocluars, and spotting scopes are made for different activities, and at Wild Birds Unlimited we will make sure you get the right pair of binoculars, or scope, that will help you see the birds the way you watch the birds.

Just what do those numbers on the binoculars mean?

Let's look at a 7 x 35 bincoular
  1. The first number ( 7 ) means the image you are looking at will be 7 times the size it is naturally.
  2. The second number ( 35 ) is the diameter (in millimeters) of the lens at the opposite end of where your eyes look.
  3. The size of that lens determines how much light gets in and how clearly you will see the birds.
What does Field of View mean?
It tells of the area you see side to side when looking through the binoculars.
What should I consider when buying a pair?
Several things:
  • Power (magnification of the subject)
  • Close Focus (shortest distance that you can see through the binoculars)
  • Field of View (the side to side view)
  • Weight
  • Size
  • Body Construction.

Wooden Feeders typically have large hoppers in which to place a large amount of seed. This takes much less daily maintenance then smaller feeders do.

They are attractive feeders which can be hung from a strong tree branch or mounted on a post.
